SUMMARY FOR STORY: Celine and Harriet spending time in Brooklyn…

SPOILER: Post "Loss".

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is set in our on-going Alternate Universe where Alex and Olivia are still together after Alex went into WPP. < http://hometown.aol.com/ursasquare/jointfanfic.html > It contains spoilers and references to future events / story-lines. Oh, Mr. and Mrs. R(asmussen) are an elderly couple who live in the house directly behind Ling and Douglas’s.

“You know? I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Olivia turned back and whispered as they tip-toed quietly up the stairs, “but I think your tofu casserole is growing on me.”

“I’m glad. Although I don’t know how you can eat it cold. Yech.”

“After eating corn and mushrooms straight out of tin cans, you can eat anything cold.” She could actually think back to that part of her childhood without feeling sorry for herself.

“I guess…” Alex, however, still had a hard time with what her partner finally told her this past Christmas.

On the second level landing, the brunette stopped. “Did you hear that?”

“No, hear what?” The blonde denied and pushed at Olivia, trying to hurry them up the stairs. “Let’s go back to bed.”

“Wait.” There was a low moan, and then a scream. Covering her mouth, and sniggering, Olivia whispered, “Oh my god!”

Grabbing the brunette’s hand, Alex ran ahead, taking the remaining flight several steps at a time. “Let’s hurry and close the door.” While her partner pull the barrier shut, she dived into their bed, and flipped the covers over her head. “Eeewww! Eeeeek! Eeeeek! Yuck! Eeeek! Eeek! Eeek!”

Olivia peered under the blanket and asked rhetorically, still grinning, “What’s your problem?”

A goofy question deserved another. “Are you deaf or something?”

“I didn’t realize just how much you took after your mom, even your noises…” She mocked surprise, enjoying the flush that was spreading rapidly from her partner’s throat to her chest.

“Olivia Benson, you better not go there,” Alex warned, refusing to acknowledge the truth.

“So your mother’s having fun. What’s wrong with that?” She peeled back the fabric, ran her index finger down Alex’s forehead to the tip of her nose, and tapped gently, “Or are you still in denial?”

“No.” The blonde crossed her arms, and made a face. “I just didn’t need to hear it.”

“I hope our children don’t develop your issues.” Olivia chuckled.

“How would you feel if it had been your mother.”

“I don’t know, my mom lived like a nun.” She shrugged, then added. “But I wish I had.”

Alex uncrossed her arms and turned onto her side to face her partner. “Excuse me?”

“I wish my mom had found someone who could make her happy and maybe take some of the burden away…” The brunette reflected. “Maybe she wouldn’t have been an alcoholic…” She trailed off, then tagged on a smile for Alex’s benefit.

“I’m sorry.” She reached across to caress her partner’s cheek, brushing her thumb along her upturned lips. “Guess I never thought about it that way…”

Olivia took hold of the slender hand, and kissed the tips of each finger. “So…” she drawled, then flicked her tongue slowly up the slight wrist to the top of her partner’s lifeline.

Alex closed her eyes, trying to maintain her composure. “So?”

She traced and outlined the fine creases and the long elegant digits lazily with her mouth and tongue, and asked in between breaths, “You’re not going to let your mother out scream you, are you?” Pleased with the tremors she was causing.

“Yes,” Alex whimpered, pressing her thighs together, “Most definitely.”

“You’re losing willingly?” Olivia teased in a husky, intimate voice, squeezing her partner’s index and middle fingers together gently, and pushing against the slit with the tip of her tongue.

The blonde moaned approvingly at her partner’s ministrations. Still resisting, she reasoned, “We don’t want to wake up the whole neighborhood.”

“You know the only people who can hear us are Ling and Douglas,” she reminded Alex. “And Mr. and Mrs. R, and they’re probably wondering if there’s anything wrong between us again…”

That was almost two years ago… She bit her lip, opened her eyes and conjured a smile. “Why would they think that?”

Deep brown pools flickered briefly, sharing the memory the emotion, and moving passed. “Ever since we came back from Italy, and Celine and Harriet got here, you haven’t made a sound.”

As if on cue, another unrestrained note of pleasure traveled up into their room. “Well…” Alex laughed quietly, coloring lightly.

“You don’t want them to worry, do you?” Olivia moved closer, and brought her partner’s thigh to rest over her own. “You know how they get,” she cautioned, her hand dancing across the smooth creamy skin, kneading softly, delighting at the small noises coming from the blonde’s throat.

Alex leaned over, cupped the back of the brunette’s head, and pushed her tongue through her surprised lips. Entering her willing mouth, firm and demanding and loving, like sex. Holding on gently, not too tightly, in a deep, soul searing kiss. After catching her breath, she asked hoarsely, “Why do I even bother arguing with you?”

Olivia blinked, and murmured, “You miss court? Resist the leader?”

“Who said you get to lead?” Chuckling gleefully, Alex took advantage of the situation and pushed her partner onto her back. She climbed on top, threw open her robe, straddled her hips, and commanded with a bright smile. “It’s up to you to win us a trophy.”
